Marissa is a speech-language pathologist providing First Steps services in Marion county. She attended Indiana University – Bloomington, where she earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Speech-Pathology and Psychology in 2009, and her Master’s degree in Speech-Pathology in 2011. Prior to joining Children’s Therapy Connection in 2021, Marissa worked in the hospital setting, providing therapy services in outpatient rehab, inpatient, and NICU.
Marissa specializes in infant and child feeding and swallowing disorders, with advanced knowledge and experience supporting the medically complex population, including genetic and metabolic conditions, craniofacial anomalies, and G-tube weaning. Marissa is a Certified Lactation Counselor who is passionate about breast feeding advocacy and support. She also has a special interest in motor speech disorders and delayed language development.
In her free time, Marissa is an avid traveler: she has been to 30 states and 11 countries so far, and is always eager to plan her next adventure!
