Children's Therapy Connection

Executive function refers to skills that help us focus, plan, prioritize, work toward goals, self-regulate behaviors and emotions, adapt to new and unexpected situations, and ultimately engage in abstract thinking and planning. These skills are so important to develop in children in order to help them become successful adults, and they are often targeted in our therapy sessions.

Check out this website for more information on executive functioning skills, including age-based developmental expectations:

Does your school-aged child struggle with executive functioning? Speech and/or occupational therapy may be able to help! Ask your child's therapist or give us a call today to learn more!
