Alison Burnett is an occupational therapist with Children’s Therapy Connection in Hamilton County. She has always been driven by a desire to help children and their families and in 1999 graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors in occupational therapy.
For over 20 years, Alison has worked with pediatric clients in inpatient, outpatient, NICU follow up clinic and early intervention environments. Alison’s clinical exposure has included but is not limited to: spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, brachial plexus injury and congenital anomalies, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, hemiplegia and cerebral palsy, autism, sensory processing disorder, attention deficit disorder, down syndrome, feeding aversion, failure to thrive, pediatric cancer, pediatric cardiac disorders and genetic disorders. Alison is experienced in use of Constraint Induced Movement Therapy to assist in facilitating arm use for hemiplegia. She has advanced training and certification in treatment of sensory processing disorder having obtained a Level 2 Mentorship from the Star Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder Center in Colorado. Alison has advanced training and is comfortable working with complex sensory, motor and behavior based feeding issues.
When she is not working with clients, Alison can be found spending time at home with her own son and daughter who are active in the Westfield community.
